The Faction Mana 2 is an excellent product for (very) advanced skiers who want to explore off-piste terrain, on long turns, at high speeds. However, it is not an exclusive ski as it possesses a good amount of versatility.
The Faction Mana 2 is stable, powerful, with a well-tuned flex. It’s not locked into being an extremely stiff, dominating ski. You can deform and work with it, and the Faction Mana 2 adapts, even at moderate speeds. However, it truly excels when pushed to go fast, stretch the turns, and accelerate alongside a skilled rider who can push its limits.
The downside? On hard snow, the Faction Mana 2 becomes a bit directive; you need to be focused because on medium turns, it doesn’t initiate as easily. In this setup, it can feel a bit challenging in the heel and tip. But as soon as the speed increases, it regains its brilliance!
The Faction Mana 2 produces a distinctive sound at the front. Its stability is undoubtedly what we liked the most. You feel confident on it, just letting the landscape unfold. Navigating through challenging snow conditions is effortless. It goes over bumps without any issues. In deep snow, you need to be a bit behind; the tip rise could benefit from being a bit more pronounced.
The Faction Mana 2 filters well, not transmitting too much feedback to the legs—another significant quality. Once on a wide turn, it’s challenging to make it reduce unless you really press on it.
A ski that is highly enjoyable at high speeds in off-piste terrain. Ideal for a very skilled skier who can express themselves without hesitation. A great freeride ski, earning it a CORE Test4outside.com award.
