The Head V-Shape V8 is an idea from the manufacturer to offer a kit-combo of lightweight and performance skis/boots. Perfect for skiers who want to economize their energy: both whilst riding but also when carrying the kit.
We tested the Nexo LYT Tech boots (https://www.test4outside.com/en/produit/head-nexo-lyt/ ). Thanks to its Karuba core the skis have also lost minimized on weight.
The V-Shape V8 skis are designed for pleasure, they bring you immediate joy and smiles. You instantly feel their lightness, especially at the front of the skis. Very pleasant underfoot, you really feel like you have a new toy.
Turns are super easy to initiate and execute, you pivot and wham ! you turn! You can over shoot but it’s easy to control.
Finding the edge bite is easy, the turn is fluid if you respect the radius. If you are a little too aggressive and push too hard in front the turn becomes less fluid.
If you find yourself leaning back the skis function and don’t block the turn.
At top speed you lose a little of their superb-ness. They start losing their serenity, probably due to the weight of the skis.
Off piste they lift out quickly and enable easy turns probably thanks to their ability to overshoot.
The testers really appreciated the Head V-Shape V8 they loved their lightness and ease to ski. They turn on their own, so you don’t need to be a hefty, physical skier, or too technical. A real pleasure to ski and they win our FIRST Award.
