The Nordica Speedmachine has a 130 flex and 100mm 99mm to be exact) last. Here’s a great idea: if you take off the screws at the rear of the boot you can go from 130 to 120 flex.
These are not easy boots to get on, and most importantly don’t forget them in the boot of your car overnight… Once your feet are in, they are surprisingly comfortable. The foam padding is delightfully enveloping and didn’t experience any pressure points. They are very precise and performant for piloting the skis.
Concerning the flex we are rapidly in the hard zone of the flexion and so with heavy pressure you are always present on the skis and transmitting all the energy into the turn. Do be careful not to tighten the strap too much because otherwise it can be rather painful on the tibia! The adjustment strap is classic and efficient and well-finished.
We really liked the well-designed and technical buckles with a “Dobermann” touch unique to Nordica.
The Gripwalk sole is integrated into the boot, and has an interesting shape which makes walking easier and an anti-slip gri^. The Michelin rubber works a dream.
The Primaloft® liner provides good insulation, yet despite their quality, in minus 12 at the bottom of the pistes we had slightly cold feet – but in these temperatures it isn’t that surprising.
Energy transfer is clear and precise. The Nordica Speedmachine are well-designed, well-made, perfect foot envelopment that is also lightweight. An excellent model that wins our Tes4outside.com FIRST Award.
