Tested in the 167 cm length, the short-radius, slalom-inspired Rossignol Hero ST Ti is a playful, accessible ski that surprisingly shows minimal wash-out in a straight line.
It boasts exceptional glide performance. All in all, this is a fantastic ski that we thoroughly enjoyed—one that lays over into turns onto edge with remarkable ease. Far from complicated, you immediately feel its predictable and reassuring nature, eager to roll smoothly through arcs, pick up speed, and showcase great radius versatility.
If you drive forebody pressure too aggressively in carved turns on steeper slopes, it can balk slightly, making the turn shape less crisp. But across all classic maneuvers on blue runs and moderately pitched red trails, it delivers right on cue.Its edge hold on hardpack is outstanding, allowing you to push into high edge angles without scaring yourself.
This Rossignol Hero ST Ti is surprisingly fast—it accelerates quickly and stays firmly glued to the snow. The tail is significantly more energized than the tip, but the overall balance is nicely tuned, making for a very enjoyable ride. It makes for a fantastic daily driver on the piste because you aren’t forced to stay locked on edge all day: you can throw it sideways into a skid instantly.
Short-radius turns, quick cadence, and tight carved arcs are effortlessly achieved—simply dipping your inside knee is enough to initiate the turn. Although the tip isn’t particularly wide, it proves extremely effective. At high speeds, the tip chatters slightly, but it doesn’t disrupt handling or degrade stability.
The Rossignol Hero ST Ti doesn’t produce any unusual noise and dampens vibrations well without beating up your legs.A stellar ski overall, though heavier skiers may find its structural limits: driving heavy pressure over the forebody risks flexing the ski beyond its sweet spot.
Visually, the graphics feel quite dated, featuring the oversized Rossignol rooster logo over an orange backdrop paired with “Hero ST Ti” printed in neon green. Fortunately, the cosmetic design doesn’t detract from its excellent on-snow performance.
On the details side, the functional elastomer tail protector works great, keeping the ski standing securely against a wall. The slick “Power Tip” insert is a nice touch, accompanied by screwed-in metal tip protectors that are unobtrusive and won’t catch on edges.
An outstanding recreational slalom ski—playful, high-performing, and ideal for carving short-radius turns all day long without exhausting yourself.
