Designed for short-distance trails at high intensity, the Rossignol Vezor starts with a solid foundation. The upcoming V2 will likely see refinements, but the technical base is already promising.
Two key strengths stand out: grip and stability. The Michelin outsole is a real highlight—rarely do we hand out such praise for a sole. It delivers powerful traction across a variety of conditions, inspiring confidence with every stride.
Stability is equally impressive, allowing you to push the pace both on descents and on smoother rolling terrain. The shoe sits low to the ground with virtually no side roll, giving precise foot placement and maintaining proprioception despite decent cushioning. Handling is further enhanced by an excellent fit that wraps the foot securely. Runners with wider feet, however, may find the toe box slightly snug.
Cushioning is well distributed, with real support under the forefoot. The Vezor feels pleasant when running on the forefoot, avoiding the stiffness too often found in trail shoes.
Rossignol has equipped the Vezor with a dual insole system. You can remove one for extra cushioning or add it for better ground filtering. It’s an interesting concept that shows how a thin material layer can subtly alter ride feel—though the change remains marginal.
What could be improved? For a shoe designed for short, fast trails, we would have liked even more energy return. The weight, while relatively low, could also be shaved further to better match its intended use.
Build quality is excellent. The mesh is robust, the toe bumper effective, and the lacing system pulls snugly all the way down to the forefoot. The lace ends can slap slightly against the shoe, but it’s a minor quibble. The tongue is thin, stays in place, and its soft upper edge never digs into the ankle. Heel hold is very secure, with an asymmetric reinforcement we particularly appreciated.
All told, the Rossignol Vezor is a solid, stable, and grippy shoe—a promising debut for Rossignol in the world of trail running.
