This lightweight Salewa jacket is ideal for endurance activities when you don’t necessarily need an insulation layer. It weighs 270g (size M) it has good warmth to weight ratio and is windproof at the front.
Its main advantage is the insulation material used: Polartec Alpha. It ensures breathability and very fast drying. It is very comfortable and stretchy. The body mapping has been well studied so it never obstructs any kind of movement and spreads perspiration whilst ensuring good ventilation.
It feels soft against the skin event though you need to wear a baselayer with it. The neckline is comfortable and at a good height. The elasticated sleeves have a thumbhole and so the top of the hand is protected. We tested it on a windy day and the windstopper works marvelously.
Did we find anything wrong with this Pedroc PTC Alpha jacket? Honestly – nothing. It is quite pricey but quality, design and materials merit the price.
