These Julbo goggles are dedicated to the webseries Rancho with the skier Enak Gavaggio, the presentations are done for some readers who aren’t French… (most of them).
These Julbo Cyrius Rancho 2 Reactiv Photochromic goggles have the same lens as the Julbo Quickshift. The lens is fantastic with excellent details, contrasts and without any distortion on the edges. Whereas we noticed reflections on the Julbo Quickshift due to the red elements, this isn’t the case with the Rancho 2 whose interior is grey/black. You have the same benefits of lens that adapts to the different light conditions. They change rapidly making these Julbo Cyrius Rancho 2 Reactiv Photochromic goggles a very versatile product whose field of use covers a multitude of situations.
Well ventilated they cope easily with any possible fog. Although we didn’t have any problems with humidity during our freeride ski touring sessions.
These goggles are light, weighing only 130g and is very comfortable on your face. To compare we can look at the Oakley Prizm Flight Tracker XM that weigh 150g. The foam on the nose piece on the Julbo isn’t preformed like the Julbo Quickshift, but to be honest, it doesn’t change anything about the comfort. We find the three layers of foam, one which is a thin green layer. This one could’ve been cut out with a little more precision; the edges aren’t always spot on.
The Julbo Cyrius Rancho 2 Reactiv Photochromic have three anti-slip material on the strap. The two-point adjustment is efficient and stays in place.
Their overall look is quite sober, you can see the Rancho logo left of the strap and some graphics on the interior of the strap.
They aren’t frameless, which is actually good because the thin structure that contours the lens gives it some protection. The lens isn’t curved and is less subjected to knocks and scratches. But, the goggles were delivered without a protective bag, we don’t know if this was an error…. At €190 we presume it must’ve been.
The Julbo Cyrius Rancho 2 Reactiv Photochromic are very good lightweight goggles that have a very high-performance lens. A versatile and well-designed product.
