Even if we wouldn’t necessarily choose these goggles in the Oakley range (we prefer the XL models, just personal taste), it is blatantly clear that once again, the American brand has brought out another 100% performant product.
First remark about the Oakley Prizm Flight Tracker XM is they are intended for people with a small face structure. They have a pronounced curve. You can of course adapt them to larger morphologies, but the adjustment strap will be tighter, and there’s more pressure.
Second remark; the goggles sit fairly firmly on your face, which is fine.
As usual at Oakley, you find exceptional lens quality that we believe is unmatched. These goggles offer a rosy shade, perfect for a whiteout day, overcast sky, and snowfall. The details are crystal clear through the entire surface of the lens. We didn’t notice any distortion even at the edges and reflections are almost non-existent. They have a wide field of vision but nevertheless less than some models on the market. For the conditions defined by their specifications, it is irreproachable.
These well-ventilated goggles rarely fog up. They sit well on a helmet and the strap doesn’t slip (three lines of non-slip elastomer). The dual adjustment is easily handled with gloves on.
The fabric storage bag is basic but effective for cleaning and minimal lens protection. The classic design, taken from the Oakley Canopy, the lens has a lightweight frame that protects the goggles from knocks on their edges. The Oakley Prizm Flight Tracker XM lens is curved in the center and more prone to scratches.
The goggles don’t make any squeaky sounds.
At the advertised price, this Oakley product is highly recommendable. The design is arguably less trendy looking than some frameless goggles, but the screen’s overall performance and frame are contemporary. They won the Test4outside.com FIRST Award.
