We had never tested any Klättermusen Swedish products before. We had the chance to ski with a complete set. Here’s the review of the Klättermusen Brage 2.0 shell.
This is an original product that sometimes forgoes technical solutions we might have considered essential, such as waterproof zippers or the Velcro adjustment at the cuffs.
Where to start? The style effects, the beautiful design, or the technical aspects? With this outfit, born in Åre, Sweden, the visual appeal and practicality are inseparable. Take, for example, the off-center flap of the main zipper. Its asymmetric design is stunning, but it’s also highly practical as it doesn’t rub against the chin: both protection and comfort are maximized. The upper part of the flap is secured by a metal buckle, which requires a bit of attention to close (without gloves). But it’s beautiful…
Even though the metal buckle wrist adjustment systems are also very aesthetic and original, they are less practical in use than Velcro.
We really liked this Klättermusen Brage 2.0 for its look and sturdiness. The reinforcements are numerous (the jacket is quite heavy), and they are present in all high-friction areas. The shoulders are well-protected when carrying skis.
The Klättermusen brand prides itself on using recycled and recyclable materials, without fluorocarbons.
This Klättermusen Brage 2.0, a three-layer jacket, is waterproof thanks to its material, but it shows its limits due to the lack of waterproof zippers. In heavy rain, water infiltration is noticeable. However, in snow, the Klättermusen Brage 2.0 is very effective. The fabric is slightly stretchy, allowing it to follow movements.
The hood volume is good. It could be slightly larger to accommodate larger helmets, but the field of vision is excellent.
A great feature: the detachable snow skirt, making the Klättermusen Brage 2.0 more versatile and suitable for other seasons.
A very nice three-layer ski jacket with an original design that skips the waterproof zippers. A durable and eco-designed product.
