The Kästle DX72 is a highly refined women’s ski, offering top-notch performance in all aspects of skiing. It has been awarded the First Test4outside.com award.
It’s the ideal tool for advancing and progressing a female skier from skidded/sliding turns to carved turns. Its user manual is straightforward, and the effects are achieved without overthinking.
The Kästle DX72 is very lightweight on the feet, yet it has an extremely wide range of use. It can cater to almost a beginner because it has extremely pleasant and easy-to-obtain pivoting and flat abilities; you don’t even need to think, everything happens immediately. However, when you start putting it on edge, you discover a real ability to manage angulations.
It’s a ski that grips very strongly and allows for considerable speed, even for larger skiers. At first glance, it may seem like a mid-range ski, but it’s very effective, even on pronounced edge engagements.
The front of the ski vibrates a bit if you really push the Kästle DX72 hard. But overall, its stability is very good in all conditions and at all speeds.
It handles well with lifted edges, in pivoting, and in carving; the Kästle DX72 is comfortable. The ski in the curve transitions quickly from edge to edge, with very little sinkage.
A very consistent ski. Perhaps the most challenging thing to do is the carved turns, where it starts to diverge a bit, and it’s not easy. But elongating and reducing the turn radius is a real pleasure.
We note its metal tip and topsheet, which withstand edge impacts quite well.
A very good ski for progressing while having fun, with an extremely wide range of performance capabilities.
