These Trek 500 gloves are my everyday go-to gloves. I never leave home without them now! Perfect for every occasion – whether just nipping out to buy bread, driving the car, going for a walk, on their own or with outer gloves. If you suffer from Reynaud’s syndrome like I do winter and summer, you’ll find these gloves are excellent for staving off that sudden chill that turns your fingers insensitive, white and useless….holding the steering wheel in the winter, taking off your gloves to write a text message, holding a hot drink because ordinary gloves are slippery, picking up your car keys,… the list is endless. Those moments where you have to remove your gloves, if only for a few minutes to handle something, or drive etc. and Wham! You have lost all sensation in your fingers.
Here are the reasons these Trek 500 gloves are so good: they have special conductor thread knitted into the ends of the fingers and thumbs to be able to use your touch screen phone – and they really do work.
Special bits of silicone strategically placed on the finger tips and in the palm of your hands so you can hold your phone without it slipping out of your hand, left or right handed … also useful for gripping the car steering wheel, bike handle bars, shopping bags, hiking poles, …a nice hot cup of coffee, a very useful detail. And also, you instantly know which is the left and right-hand glove because you can see these silicone bits clearly – nothing more irritating than putting your gloves on back the wrong hands! – which may seem a silly thing to note, until you realize that with most black “liner” style gloves you are always putting them on the wrong hands …
And lastly, the seamless knit means they fit wonderfully without any stitching rubbing inside the fingers and therefore extremely comfortable.
At 4,99€ the pair there really is no excuse to always have a pair with you! Worn alone or with over gloves they are unbeatable. They win the First Award without hesitation – I don’t know how I ever managed without them!
