The Millet Cosmic LT 20 is a compact backpack designed for freeride skiing outings where you only need to carry the essentials. Safety gear fits neatly in the main compartment, while a zipped pocket with a flap is provided for personal items. There’s also a dedicated space for a hydration bladder (not included).
This is a “simple” yet well-designed product — no unnecessary extras. Weighing in at 800 grams, it’s not an ultralight pack, but rather one focused on efficiency and durability. It will be interesting to see, over long weeks in the mountains, whether the recycled polyamide retains its properties. In any case, the fabric is waterproof (though the zippers aren’t), meaning moisture penetration is significantly delayed. Rain and wet snow are therefore much less of a concern. The material also has a slightly shiny black finish — it looks great.
We really appreciate the back panel of the Millet Cosmic LT 20, which almost acts as a back protector. It’s flexible, well-padded, and comfortable, distributing the load evenly. Carrying skis, however, is tricky with such a small 20-liter pack — as is often the case with this category, they’re just too compact to handle the weight and leverage of skis. Snowshoes, on the other hand, fit without issue.
While the back panel is particularly well designed, we would have preferred slightly thicker shoulder straps for added comfort. All the adjustment straps slide smoothly, and we like the offset waist buckle positioned to the left. The pack adjusts well to the body and is unobtrusive in action.
All zippers operate smoothly and are equipped with pull cords and grips, making them easy to handle even with thin gloves on.
Kudos to Millet for including a spacious pocket on the right side of the waist belt — large enough to hold a big smartphone comfortably. A super practical detail.
