The Kästle Quartz 72 is a ski designed for women. Its design is classic, without notable features, but its construction is well-crafted. One notices the tip cap screwed rather than integrated into the structure.
From the first turns, one appreciates the great lightness of the Kästle Quartz 72, both on the feet and when carrying it. Its main characteristic lies in its great ease in pivoting, whether flat or on edge. It tends to oversteer.
All types of turns are achieved very easily. The Kästle Quartz 72 offers great ease in skidding and sliding, flat. The same goes for entering a curve, where it poses no problem.
It is a relatively narrow ski underfoot, relatively shaped. It is enough to slightly press at the center of the ski for it to enter the curve and position itself naturally on its radius, supported on the edge. Carved turns are very pleasant.
At high speed, when skiing on the edge, it maintains well on a certain radius, but if pushed too hard, it can skid, although you really have to push it hard. It’s quite surprising because it gives the impression of having almost nothing inside, being extremely light, but ultimately, it is relatively performing, provided you don’t demand too much from it… On groomed and not too steep snow, it holds and offers quite satisfactory performance.
On steep slopes, at high speed, one can feel the front vibrating rapidly, and one must be well positioned. However, it forgives mistakes. Small turns and small bumps are pleasant.
A ski that is forgotten and always at the service of the skier. One may wonder whether to praise it or not, but in any case, it is a very good ski, serious and reliable.
