We used the Klättermusen Ull Backpack 20L over several months in a wide range of conditions. It’s a versatile pack designed for hiking, climbing, skiing, and ski touring. For ski touring specifically, as with most packs that rely on lateral ski carry, it’s not the most convincing option. Side carry remains the preferred method in terms of balance and practicality.
The Klättermusen Ull Backpack 20L is extremely lightweight, making it ideal for carrying the essentials on a day outing. The designers clearly pursued a minimalist, weight-saving approach, yet the key features are all there: load adjusters, a comfortable hip belt, gear attachment points, and an internal pocket.
The flexible back panel is quite thin but performs well, following the body’s movements — something that’s especially pleasant during skiing. The shoulder straps are very slim and distribute weight surprisingly well, though it’s best not to overload this 20-liter pack.
All the straps are solid and move smoothly. The matte metal hooks are beautifully finished and add to the premium feel. The recycled polyamide fabric is impressively durable and water-resistant.
Top access is quick and intuitive: pull two straps and the pack opens wide. A side zipper also allows you to reach inside without opening the top, which is a great convenience on the go.
All in all, this is an excellent backpack for hiking and other outdoor activities — lightweight, technical, almost waterproof, and very practical. It’s a well-designed, multi-season pack that performs reliably and looks great doing it.
