Faction Dancer 1 Pink

We had the chance to ski the beautiful Faction Dancer 1 Pink in its stunning vintage/psychedelic design. This is a ski with personality, designed specifically for female skiers, although it follows the same formula as the men’s Dancer 1. It has a 14-meter radius and a width of 86 mm underfoot, making it a solid all-mountain ski.

Despite its clear strengths in the tail, the Faction Dancer 1 Pink is a slightly under-steering ski due to its lack of significant tip effect. This allows skilled skiers to control and fine-tune it according to their own preferences, avoiding the overly sudden and aggressive behavior of skis with too much tip engagement.

The flex of the Faction Dancer 1 Pink is stiff underfoot; let’s say it’s firm. At high speeds, even on hard snow, the Faction Dancer 1 Pink holds its ground. Despite its 14-meter radius, it handles large, smooth turns well, provided you play with your balance and angulation. Once it’s on edge, it carves in a firm, rather incisive manner. Its radius variation is probably not its standout feature, as it tends to feel more anchored. Overall, its flex has been described as rigid.

That said, the Faction Dancer 1 Pink remains very enjoyable on edge because it is highly grippy and solid on hard snow. Of course, it takes some skill to find the right edge angle, but once you’ve got the hang of it, the experience becomes both easy and exhilarating.

Very grippy, the Faction Dancer 1 Pink handles and evolves quickly, making it a real pleasure to ski.

It makes a slight sound on hard snow and feels light on the feet (and when carrying it). It’s a great all-mountain ski, with a well-designed tip rise.

For an intermediate skier, the rather stiff flex needs to be managed. However, for more experienced skiers, the Faction Dancer 1 Pink is reassuring because you can feel its solid build—it’s not going to falter, and you can really lean into it.

It offers a great balance between skiability and lightness, with edge hold that’s typically found in heavier skis.

Its assertive performance is also evident in soft snow: when sliding, you can feel the tail providing solid support.

A ski with character, grippy, and versatile enough to handle all aspects of all-mountain skiing. Excellent skiability-to-weight ratio.
