Incredibly lightweight, the Odlo ZeroWeight Dual Dry Waterproof is designed for trail running. However, its close-fitting cut and technical features also make it suitable for road cycling and mountain biking.
Weighing under 200 grams—180 g in size L, to be precise—this Odlo ZeroWeight Dual Dry Waterproof easily fits into a trail pack or a jersey pocket. Highly packable, it takes up virtually no space and embraces a minimalist approach to protect against wind and rain. Of course, it doesn’t offer the same level of rain protection as a three-layer shell, but it fully meets the requirements of a trail running jacket.
Its very fitted cut works best if you don’t plan to wear mid-layers or a trail running pack underneath. You may want to size up if you intend to layer clothing.
This is a jacket you quickly forget about while in motion, like a second skin. The fabric moves naturally with the body. The fit is excellent at the lower back, wrists, and neck—areas that are all well protected. Despite its ultra-light weight, the Odlo ZeroWeight Dual Dry Waterproof features two waist adjustment systems. The cuffs are elasticated, allowing easy access to a GPS watch.
The hood is also well designed: it follows head movements effectively and doesn’t interfere with the use of a headlamp. It can be adjusted at a single point at the back of the head.
The central waterproof zipper runs smoothly, although it requires two hands to operate.
You immediately notice that the Odlo ZeroWeight Dual Dry Waterproof retains body heat; breathability takes a back seat to waterproofing. We appreciated the subtle reflective strips for nighttime visibility. One tip: remove the many care labels right away.
