The Compressport Hybrid Pullover is a clever long sleeved top. The brand has added a windproof section on the chest. So this sweater becomes a kind of hybrid jacket (or protective sweater), lightweight that combones breathability of a mid-layer and windproof protection (at least on the chest). When we say windproof don’t expect a 100% protection but a barrier that filters well for running.
Worn in autumn and awinter for trail runnning training sessions and bike outings, the Compressport Hybrid Pullover was fully appreciated for its lightness and thermal protection. This is nevertheless a thin mid-layer that isn’t as warm as a classic polar fleece, this product is desined for endurance sports where your body temperature is higher through effort.
The combination of chest protection and microfiners makes easy evacuation of excess heat and sweating and protects you from the cold when exercising. The Compressport Hybrid Pullover is very pleasant to wear, soft micro fibers with a noticeable feeling of immediate warmth. The cuffs prevent you from wearing a big GPS watch. In cooler conditions it brings comfort if when sweating. It dries quickly under the arms, a little slower at the chest. There is technical weaving at the back of the sweater which quickly releases sweat.
We wore this sweater with the Compressport 3D Thermo 50G SS, ultra-light T-shirt, making a perfect combination.
The Hybrid Pullover is designed both well-fitting and ample at the waist. The windproof section on the chest is only attached on the sides, it can create tiny folds and doesn’t stick to the body. The overall comfort is undeniable, your moveemnts are never problematique. A heavier-built tester suggested that the collar could be wider. Once the zip is closed the neckline is snug.
We appreciated its lightness, 120g in size M ! This lightness obviously means that you must take care of it and avoid prickly bushes and nails that haven’t been trimmed properly to avoid catching threads. We realised the same thing with the Compressport 3D Thermo 50G SS T-shirt.
Compressport did not put a label in it, which is great because they always provoke irritation. Although you must remember that it should be handwashed and not machine washed – the major error that we made ! To be honest the product survived although the black bled and the textile sagged a bit.
The Compressport Hybrid Pullover provides and excellent combination of breathability, thermal insulation and wind protection. An excellent product for all chilly outings, running, fast hiking or biking.
