The Brooks Ghost 18 places comfort and ease of use at the very heart of its design. It is exceptionally pleasant to wear, thanks to the immediate comfort it delivers from the very first run. Over time, you also come to appreciate the soft, secure foot wrap and the cushioning qualities of the midsole.
One of our favorite updates is the new tongue design, which features strategically placed cushioning zones. Lace pressure is virtually unnoticeable, and once again, comfort reaches a remarkably high level.
Foot hold is excellent, with secure heel lockdown. There is very little unwanted rolling motion, and the Brooks Ghost 18 retains the smooth forward transition that has long been one of the model’s defining characteristics. This fluid ride is further enhanced by its 10 mm drop.
The Brooks Ghost 18 is not designed as a racing shoe. Instead, it is intended for everyday runs, recovery sessions, and even walking. On the road, we appreciated its reassuring and forgiving nature, particularly for runners whose stride mechanics may not be highly refined. The Brooks Ghost 18 guides the runner naturally and tolerates common running errors, such as heavy heel striking. Cushioning is evenly distributed throughout the shoe, while sufficient responsiveness remains under the forefoot and metatarsal area.
Putting the shoe on is easy, and the lacing system provides a precise and consistent fit. Build quality is excellent, with meticulous assembly and high-quality materials that leave little room for criticism.
A highly accessible, comfort-focused shoe that is simply enjoyable to run in. Perfect for daily training, recovery runs, or casual mileage.
