Despite its rather long name, the Sea to Summit Frontier Ultralight Collapsible One Pot Cook Set 1L packs an impressive list of features. First, it’s exceptionally lightweight, tipping our scales at just 255 g (the manufacturer claims 259 g). It is also highly compact, collapsing down to only 5 cm (2 in) thick.
When folded, the pot neatly stores a cup and a fork inside. A removable metal handle locks the entire set securely together—just make sure the lid is positioned the right way before fastening it.
We particularly appreciated how easy the handle is to attach and how secure it feels in use. Both the 1-liter pot and the cup feature a hard-anodized aluminum base for efficient heat transfer, while the sidewalls are made from food-grade silicone. Folding and unfolding the set is quick and effortless, allowing you to adjust the height of either the pot or the cup depending on your needs.
Cleaning is equally straightforward. The cup’s rolled rim makes it comfortable to drink from, even with very hot liquids (although it’s still best not to fill it to the brim).
The only real drawback is the relatively delicate coating on the bottom of the pot. Avoid using metal utensils that could scratch the surface.
The included fork is extremely lightweight and made from hard-anodized aircraft-grade aluminum. It could be a little stiffer, but its edges can also be used to cut soft foods. The handle is compatible with an optional adapter (sold separately), allowing it to be connected to a matching spoon (also sold separately) to create a pair of serving tongs.
This is an impressively lightweight, fully functional cook set that strikes an excellent balance between minimalism and practicality. It’s an ideal choice for backpacking, mountaineering, and any outdoor adventure where every gram counts. A well-deserved First Test4Outside Award.
