The difference between the 361° Meraki 6 and the 361° Phoenix is fairly subtle.
That said, the Phoenix did feel slightly more stable laterally.
Both models feature an 8 mm drop, but it’s distributed differently: the Phoenix sits at 26 mm in the forefoot and 34 mm in the heel, whereas the Meraki 6 has 22 mm in the forefoot and 31 mm at the rear.
On foot, the Phoenix feels light (280 grams) and responsive, with no front-end drag.
While running, foot placement is solid with no deviation during the gait cycle. The energy return isn’t particularly pronounced, but the cushioning is very pleasant—present without being overly soft. Like the Meraki, the 361° Phoenix is a very approachable shoe, designed to suit a wide range of runners. It’s exactly the kind of model you’d choose for regular training with a focus on comfort and enjoyment. A smooth, efficient shoe that you hardly notice while wearing.
The mesh appears slightly less stretchy than the Meraki’s. Lacing is excellent, and heel lockdown is secure at the back of the Phoenix. The overall build quality is top-tier, with no visible seams. The foam padding provides exceptional comfort.
