The 361 ° Taroko are made with the usual care of the other models in the range.
There’s no doubt about the high quality of this brand, its knowledgeable product construction, and accurate collages. These shoes can be summarized in three words: versatility, comfort, and price.
We followed the programme stated by the manufacturer’s, we ran on a running track, non-technical paths and on the road. These shoes are designed to be forgotten in most situations (except in mud). You can accelerate on the track, run easily enjoying the cushioning on a hard surface, or run on the road knowing you have good foothold and sole. These are versatile shoes.
First we noticed how comfortable they are. The high quality foam around the ankle and heel has been well-distributed. But what we liked the most was, without doubt, the 3D tongue, real comfort. There’s no pressure or pain on your tendon. Something that needs to be said at a time where more and more brands are designing thinner and thinner tongues.
The toe box is quite wide, but its volume doesn’t change: the mesh doesn’t stretch out. Your toes are in secure comfort. The forefoot is practically touching the shell construction without any pressure points appearing.
The sole is homogenous with the shoe even if the heel has quite pronounced cushioning. It’s important for the heel and obviously less at the forefoot. You don’t lose any lateral stability and it stays in contact with the ground. The 9mm drop doesn’t put any pressure on your calves.
Weight-wise it weighs 295g, standard weight for this type of shoe size 42.5.
This shoe is really designed for someone starting out in the trail running experience, on gentle paths and road. So you don’t have to have several different pairs. The price is interesting, high technical quality and good finishing, these 361° are good value for money. Only on technical ground does it lose points, but then it isn’t really designed for this category.
