We tested the Arc’teryx Norvan Downword Logo SS together with the Norvan 5 short, both designed for trail running. This combo proves highly efficient and well thought-out in several ways.
Let’s start with the construction: everything is focused on lightness — our size M T-shirt weighed just 85 grams on the scale. You barely feel it when wearing it. Seams are reduced to the absolute minimum. Where they do exist — on the shoulders and under the arms — they are extremely thin, flat, and strategically offset from friction points. What really stands out, though, is the absence of seams at the sleeve ends and hem, replaced by laminated finishes that are beautifully executed.
The Arc’teryx Norvan Downword Logo SS feels incredibly pleasant on the skin, with a fit that’s neither too tight nor too loose. Breathability is outstanding, and the drying speed is impressively fast. The back panel uses an ultra-light, highly breathable fabric, and the neckline is especially comfortable.
We also love the large vertical Arc’teryx logo — bold and stylish without being over the top.
The only real downside is its delicate fabric: the fine mesh can snag on bushes, rough pack straps, or even fingernails.
Paired with the Arc’teryx Norvan 5 short, this shirt makes an excellent lightweight summer outfit. An ultralight, high-performance technical T-shirt offering superb comfort and top-tier breathability — perfect for hot-weather trail runs.
