With the Norvan 5, Arc’teryx delivers an ultralight trail running short weighing just 70 grams, designed with a nearly seamless construction.
The Arc’teryx Norvan 5 is exceptionally comfortable while running, thanks to its soft, ultralight fabric that moves naturally with the body. It’s also highly breathable and dries almost instantly.
The loose, athletic fit promotes both airflow and freedom of movement — even during steep climbs, the thighs move freely without restriction. There’s no friction or chafing whatsoever.
The waistband is very soft, made from elastic material with a drawcord. This drawcord is probably the only detail we liked a bit less about this otherwise beautifully designed short: it hangs loosely outside and requires a knot, with no automatic tightening system. We’ve run in shorts without a drawcord that stayed perfectly in place. That said, if you use the small rear pocket to carry gels or small items, the drawcord does help keep the short from slipping.
Overall, the Arc’teryx Norvan 5 is a lightweight, ultra-comfortable trail running short. It’s super breathable, unrestrictive, and ideal for warm-weather runs. A reliable, high-performance essential for minimalist trail runners.
