In recent years, skirts are no longer exclusively dedicated to tennis women, trail runners have also adopted this type of very practical and aesthetic kit.
The Compressport brand offers in its performance range a skort that provides a good compromise of a compression product with a feminine design.
The Compressport Performance Skirt W, tested in black, has a different shade between the material at the front, which is lighter, and the rear which is a thicker fabric, no doubt to avoid wear and tear when sitting down, or to limit transparency at the rear. The front fabric is light and quite fragile, it creases very quickly, annoying for those who like to always look good.
The shorty is made from a compressive material for support and which can be interesting depending on the athlete’s needs (increased venous return, drainage). But the benefits are difficult to show, you can’t be absolute about its gains.
We noticed that the shorty rides up over many kilometers, it rides up quite easily on the thighs thus reducing the pure compressive effect sought after. The fact that the shorty does not remain “in place” on the thighs, indeed biases the effectiveness. This phenomenon must obviously be related to morphology: imposing thighs or not.
You don’t feel the skirt fabric at all during activity, the skirt is very short, so definitely a summer product.
The Compressport Performance Skirt W isn’t tight around the waist, which we really appreciated. This is a good point as it doesn’t interfere with digestion or breathing.
There are two side pockets at the waist: 16 cm by 9 cm. During the test, we slipped in an iPhone XS, which holds without any problem in activities on flat ground and in the mountains on runs from 1h to 1h45. However, these pockets are too small to accommodate the 500 ml flasks. The flask doesn’t fit in entirely and the weight of the flask makes the skirt drop down.
After several washes, the size and quality of the Compressport Performance Skirt W doesn’t deteriorate. The product dries in no time, which is a real advantage.
Positive point, no friction was noticed with the Compressport Performance Skirt, W the brand emphasizes this quality and we can confirm it.
We recommend wearing it without underwear to limit an added risk of rubbing and take full advantage of the product’s breathability.
