The Atomic Eleven is designed for powerful female skiers. Triggering the turn is easy it’s afterwards that requires skill. It tends to pull to the right, under-steers. If you try and alter the fore/aft balance you feel the ski stiffen. It doesn’t change shape under foot, you need speed and strength but all round it’s not too hard or uncomfortable.
In wide turns the ski is efficient and fluid. It remains stable and the tip doesn’t move although it’s not easy to lay flat. It takes off on its edges, it follows its carving destiny.
It’s a high quality, demanding ski, difficult to figure out because you need experience to know where to position yourself. We didn’t have fun with this ski because it’s way too pro with a stiff flex. The glide could be improved. The edge bites better on wider turns than on short turns. But in the short turns the ski feels hard and needs a lot of effort to make the turn. Wide turns you have more time to balance the pressure and coax the ski. We have mixed thoughts about this ski.
