Born out of climbing pack designs, and renowned for their durability and waterproofness, with the Black Diamond Creek Transit 22 you can bring your sports gear, a large camera, documents, laptop or other kit.

The “outdoor” use…
The main pocket has a good-sized volume (22 liters) and seems very convenient to access. Due to its design and suitable fabric (800d nylon and 1260d ballistic nylon), it stands perfectly upright making it easy to pack. This pocket’s zip doesn’t appear to be waterproof, unlike the rest of the bag.
While there is no compartment reserved for the water bag, it is still possible to slip a bladder and water-pipe if necessary.
There is also is also another compartment in this main pocket that you can store various A4 format documents in.
In the upper flap there is a suitably sized waterproof compartment, which has a net for papers or small bits and pieces, there’s also a clip so you don’t lose your keys.
The padded carrying straps are comfortable. The removable waist straps avoids dragging them on the ground when you don’t want to use them. And there’s an adjustment strap across the chest, (with a whistle) that flattens the pack securely to your back.
For “in town” use…
At the rear of the pack there’s a vertical padded and zipped housing suitable for a 13-inch laptop.
There is also a pocket for sliding your ID papers into (wallet, passport …).
The Black Diamond Creek Transit 22 has a “suitcase” type handle on the side and another one above that makes it easy to carry or move the pack around in any position.
On the front of the pack, there are two sewn straps for attaching kit (carabiners, etc.) and reflective strips for night-time visibility.
After a few excursions …
The usability of the Black Diamond Creek Transit 22 was confirmed. It’s easy to pack and the fact that it sits upright is an undeniable asset.
The zips slide easily, the various pockets are well-designed and convenient to access.
It’s comfortable enough to carry, even when full (camera, waterproofs, water bottle, papers, small kit and a 13-inch laptop). The back and padded straps perform well.
The Black Diamond Creek Transit 22 Backpack is a useful everyday companion.
Admittedly, it isn’t a technical pack, but it is very practical on your daily commute or even biking to work (it is practically waterproof). It is comfortable hiking on the trails even if it doesn’t have all the accessories (pole attachments for example) and its sober look gives it a stylish look.
For those who want a practical, tough and versatile day-pack with enough carrying comfort, both for in the city and the mountains.
