To celebrate the Kona, Compressport offers a limited series under the name of the mythical Hawaiian challenge. We were able to test it in real conditions during the Embrunman XXL triathlon, the Postural Aero SS Top, the Under Control Oxygen Short, the Pro Racing V3.0 Ultralight Run High socks and the et Spiderweb Ultralight Visor. We already tested the Kona Trisuit and the TR3 Aéro Trisuit.
This new Postural Aero SS Top outfit is not a real tri-suit, as it is made up of two elements: a t-shirt and shorts with a pad insert for cycling. The dissociation of the two elements is particularly interesting because you can mix it with the T-shirt, for example, other shorts for cycling (and vice versa) … Interesting point: wearing a T-shirt and shorts also allows greater speed and a greater comfort when you need to go to the toilet when racing! For this test, let’s focus on the T-shirt.
Very lightweight and characterized by a V-neck and sleeves. The design and soft fabric enables you to swim without any hindrance to your movements. We were concerned there may be friction under the arms, but not at all. When we used it in the Embrunman, we did have to ensure that the sleeves weren’t wrinkled up when putting on the wetsuit.
Very comfortable with slight compression, the Compressport Postural Aero SS Top does not get soaked with water and dries quickly as soon as you finish swimming. It doesn’t change shape due to the water. The central zip slides well and doesn’t get stuck. The opening is wide enough to take the T-shirt off without trouble or as ventilation. Between the two pecs, the wide zip creates an unsightly fold (bump).
The fabric dissipates sweat extremely rapidly and therefore the Postural Aero SS Top dries out very quickly. The fabric doesn’t smell.
Cycling, it protects you enough to ride during summer temperatures. As soon as the temperature cools down, you need to pair it with a cycling jersey. The waist is kitted out with a thin non-slip band that prevents the Postural Aero SS Top from rising up and leaving your lower back exposed. Please note: it does not have anywhere to slip gels and other kit. The Under Control Oxygen shorts are equipped with a carrying system.
The Postural Aero SS Top isn’t fragile, except at the sleeves where the stitches can get caught (with nails).
We particularly liked this Postural Compressor Aero SS Top as it never interferes with swimming, cycling or running. Comfortable and very practical, it is particularly good at evacuating heat. It also has superb punchy Kona colors – making you stand out in the crowd…. This is a superb product.
