Dynastar M-Pro 100 Ti

FIRST

After the first runs, the discussion quickly turned to what type of award we would give this ski… First Award or Core Award? In fact, the “Pro” designation for this Dynastar is a bit misleading, as it’s not an extreme ski, nor is it exclusively reserved for elite skiers.

The Dynastar M-Pro 100 Ti is very accessible. The ease with which the ski pivots is immediately noticeable. It’s easy to handle, forgiving, and it flattens out almost instantly (except on very hard snow). This overall ease is quite surprising given its generous dimensions. With 100 millimeters underfoot, the lever arm is usually tricky to manage, but the rocker and the reduced edge length have been exceptionally well-calculated. The result is a very versatile ski that turns incredibly easily.

The Dynastar M-Pro 100 Ti allows, of course, for longer turns, stretching them out to ski straight lines. A detail worth mentioning is that the rocker at the rear of the ski doesn’t cause excessive rise in the tail. As a result, the ski’s tails don’t tend to catch, making it easy to slide through ski racks. On the other hand, its performance is very real in tight couloirs, where the Dynastar M-Pro 100 Ti won’t dig in when skiing backward.

This is a ski we loved at very high speeds. At full throttle, the tip works well, absorbing bumps as you glide over chop, and you don’t have to worry about anything — the ski doesn’t send any feedback to your legs. Around moguls, the ski works well, with a very consistent flex. There are no stiff spots; it’s fluid!

To initiate a drift, simply raise your stance, and the ski will easily break into a slide. It flattens out, never spinning in a “heli” motion. On large carved turns, the Dynastar M-Pro 100 Ti can go very fast with excellent grip. You can also make very large angulations without issue. The turn radius can also be varied with ease.

Great glide. The design is more elaborate than it first appears. The top of the ski has a matte finish, similar to a sports car. Beautiful transparency effects, showcasing the wood and fibers. Gorgeous color accents, like stamps symbolizing mountains, reflecting light…

A performance ski that’s easy to handle — that’s rare enough to be highlighted in this product category. A great ski we’d love to add to our quiver. First Award!
