New for winter 2019!
We were really impressed by these new Fischer skis in the Ranger line. The skis have been modified over time bringing a little more rigidity each time.
These FR have a freeride backcountry feel. You can tell that Fischer have used weighty materials in the construction, notably before the tip right back to the tail. If you are a lightweight skier you will have a harder time working these Ranger FR: you need to put substantial pressure on them to deform them or go fast. Paradox: they pivot easily flat and become more technical as soon as you reach for the edges.
You can use a lot of power and angulation. They are at home in both powder and groomed snow. Over bumpy ground it’s a bit harder because of the stiff construction of the skis, they rebound a lot so you need to be well positioned.
The radius turns around 19m and the curve’s variation of latitude is not very large when carving. The skidding turns suit changes.
Off piste, they lift out fast and go fast thanks to their solid structure and performant tips supported with a rocker.
These skis are very well made with a tough top sheet that don’t suffer from hits from the edges.
Good skis for a powerful skier who can explore and enjoy the freeride domain but that’s not all: they also ride well on piste!
