We started this test with a preconceived idea about the Fischer RC4 Noize, as we had previously skied—and highly praised—the short-turn version from Fischer, the RC4 ST, which also carries the “Noize” name. We had loved its accessibility combined with real performance, and the remarkable smoothness of this ultra-stable ski, always capable of putting a smile on a piste skier’s face. We immediately awarded it the First Test4outside Award.
So the question was: how could a long-radius ski live up to the standards set by the outstanding Fischer RC4 Noize ST? Because as soon as we talk about a relatively long radius on piste, with a race-derived construction and a stretched, aggressive shape, we expect a demanding ski—one that needs space on hard snow to truly shine, and that usually offers very limited turn-shape variation.
The Fischer RC4 Noize tested in the 178 cm length, with a 15.5 m radius and a race plate, completely won us over—to the point that it was impossible not to award it the First Test4outside Award as well.
On snow, what smoothness, what ease, what performance! This Fischer RC4 Noize is an absolute pleasure to ski: powerful yet incredibly accessible. Right away, you notice that all directional changes happen instantly. The big surprise comes from its skidded turns: you can immediately break the Fischer RC4 Noize sideways whenever needed. This is quite rare for a ski designed for high-speed carving on edge. This ever-present ability to skid greatly expands its versatility and range of use, creating a real sense of confidence. You’re not locked onto rails with trajectories that are difficult to adjust. The pivot underfoot is impressive.
Another major strength of the Fischer RC4 Noize is its extremely well-balanced flex, which can easily be adjusted to vary turn radius. This doesn’t require advanced technique or exceptional physical strength. Skiers around 70 kg can handle the Fischer RC4 Noize effortlessly without being overpowered—thanks in particular to a very adaptive tail.
The fluidity and snow feel are exceptional. A pure delight! The tip of the Fischer RC4 Noize is literally glued to the snow; it doesn’t vibrate and remains completely silent, even on icy conditions. The same goes for the entire structure of the ski, which transmits very little vibration to the legs.
If there is one slight drawback to mention, it would be edge grip under very strong pressure with high angulation. It may feel a bit less reassuring than some other skis in the same category—although a direct comparison on identical snow conditions would be necessary. The Fischer RC4 Noize is not a full-on racing ski; it’s a tamed giant slalom derivative, perfectly suited for everyday piste skiing.
When carrying it, the weight is significant—enough to work your arms and shoulders: 2,420 grams in the 178 cm length! Once on your feet, we won’t say the Fischer RC4 Noize disappears, but its heft is perfectly manageable. It’s outstanding in straight-line runs, never feels loose, and holds its line at high—and even very high—speeds.
A ski we absolutely loved on piste, whether skiing fast or at a more moderate pace. Ultra-stable, extremely smooth, easy yet high-performing, this Fischer RC4 Noize is pure joy. It’s never dominant. A clear and undisputed First Test4outside Award.
