You can feel slalom genes in these Stöckli SC Laser. They are of course softer compared to the sensations you get from racing skis. Yet the SC Laser’s tail is noticeably present, powerful and full of energy. These are unforgiving. You have to ski them perfectly, they aren’t for just any skier. 72mm waist, we were surprised at the end of the test session: These were the only skis to bite on rock hard ice – bravo!
You get premium curves with amazing grip. Pig-headed they stay loyal to their 15m radius. They are powerful so you need a chunky build and/or technique to ride these carvers. You need expertise and skill to steer them on compact snow.
On soft snow, carving is carried out with great ease, and you can even vary the turn slightly, but it ain’t that easy! These are pleasant skis that track up speed fast, so you need to manage the acceleration. If you find yourself unbalanced in the rear, these skis will take you for a ride, they will pilot you! So keep in mind to search out the tips. These are undeniably great skis, but they are for great skiers: A stunning product that is very well-designed, and beautifully finished. Superb metal tips, stunning top sheet, and doted with superior glide. The skis are a bit heavy but that use it forcefully.
There’s no doubt that these Stöckli SC Laser are top-of-the-range skis. They give super strong sensations that could be too much if you don’t have the skills to manage them. We gave them the Test4outside CORE Award that reward demanding but performant skis.
