FISCHER RC4 WC SC MT

The Fischer RC4 WC SC MT is the slalom version of the Fischer RC4 RC. With a slalom version we should expect a usage that is more technically designed than the giant, but guess what? If we had to choose between the two skis we’d choose the slalom. Why? Because these skis don’t block you in short turns as you would’ve imagined they would do due to their shape. These Fischer are very versatile in varying their radius. You can really lengthen out or shorten, without having a super high-level skill set. You also don’t need to be on the hefty side.

The Fischer RC4 WC SC MT enter into a turn superbly, you immediately find the edge, they hold the pressure and glide fluidly. You can enter with the tips, at the centre of the foot or even on the heel. Centre-foot or in front aren’t as convincing in terms of grip, which is maybe one of the complaints we could have occasionally, maybe on hard terrain when you have a lot of angle: you wonder if the skis are going to give. We imagine that heftier-built skiers would quickly find their limits at high speed.

The tail doesn’t put you in any bad situations, the flex is fluid and coherent. Even if you find yourself leaning backwards the skis don’t skid away. These Fischer RC4 WC SC MT are very pleasing, they are almost suitable for teaching, they are certainly very enjoyable for piste skiing. They grip, but not too much, fast but you’ll find your limits when there are little mounds of snow on the piste, the tips vibrate a little but nothing too terrible – and you have to really push them hard to reach this effect. Pleasant skis with a tameable performance level despite their Fischer racing look and shaped tips. These skis glide much better than the giant model.

You don’t have to be on the edges the whole time. On soft or hard snow you can skid them. You feel the tips’ presence but even crossways on hard snow skidding turns can be done without the fore or rear lose their grip.

The Fischer RC4 WC SC MT are light and ride easily. The top sheet is very tough, they don’t get marked, edge bangs are practically nonconsequential. The design is classic and sober.

The Fischer RC4 WC SC MT is a very good piste-skiing product, top-of-the-range, and for expert skiers, average build skiers who want to ski short turns, but not only that!
