We tested this FW Manifest Tour 3L Jkt WPS jacket ski touring and freeriding. We wore it with the FW matching pants (https://www.test4outside.com/produit/fw-manifest-tour-3l-bib-wps/).
This beautiful FW Manifest Tour 3L Jkt WPS possesses two distinguishing features. Its design and the collar, which is very high.
The design is classic to the FW brand. Whether the polar fleeces (superb), the bib pants (the Manifest mentioned above) or this jacket. There is always a certain style, original cut, a slightly different creation, whilst being in good taste and carefully studied design. We loved this FW Manifest Tour 3L Jkt WPS with its asymetric appearance because the large right-hand pocket is in fact ventilation and the left-hand pocket (huge)is at the chest. The cuffs are well designed and the FW logo is on the inside of the jacket made with little holes. The cuffs with holes for your thumbs are really comfortable and without the traditional irritating folded seam between the thumb and index (which restricts comfort and weakens this area).
The hood gives superb protection with its very high collar. Sometimes it can be restricting – depending on your morphology – and therefore you need to unzip it. It’s quite stiff this area but gets more flexible with use, and it gives you incredible protection against snow January blizzards. Lateral vision is unimpaired even if the material doesn’t necessarily follow your head movements.
The fabric has a 20,000 membrane. We couldn’t test it in wet snow and rain. The material makes a very slight noise, unimportant, it is at any rate quieter than the Gore-Tex® Pro.
Adjustment systems, at the waist and hood, are efficient and easy to use (without gloves on). All the YKK zips are waterproof and have a little cord attached: efficient, well finished and delicate.
There’s easily adjustable and powerful Velcro wrists. A large pocket for a ski pass on the left bicep. Manufacture is done with care, seams are faultless. We loved how lightweight and slightly stretchy this jacket is.
This FW Manifest Tour 3L Jkt WPS is well designed, pleasant to wear because it is both technical, stylish, and well finished. You just need to check that the collar suits your morphology.
