This is the ideal chair for a bivouac, a fishing trip, a nap under a tree with a good book.
The Helinox Beach Chair dismantles completely and fits inside an ample sized bag that you don’t have to fight with to get it in. All the tube sections are connected with an elastic, so you don’t lose them and set it up without even thinking, like automatic tent poles.
Once the frame has been mounted (less than ten seconds flat), all you have to do is slide the fabric over and snap it together at each end. The whole thing weighs 1420g and 1550g with the cover.
The Helinox Beach Chair is comfortable and tough. We left it in the sun and rain for months on end. We tested it in green and it hasn’t lost its shine under the UV rays.
It’s a low seat, so with a low center of gravity, this prevents it tipping over. The wide legs do not sink into loose soil: sand, damp earth and stability is good. We loved the fact there’s no irritating squeaking or small canvas noises on the tubes. It’s very comfortable, but not that easy to get back out of the Helinox Beach Chair. Even though the structure is present under the knees, it doesn’t cut off your blood circulation.
The seat is breathable. It can be fitted with an optional headrest (pillow), which is attached with a wide Velcro strip. If you leave the seat out in the rain, the water collects in it.

The Helinox Beach Chair is ideal for a comfortable bivouac. Ultra-quick to assemble, tough and comfortable, it is a bit heavy if you have to walk for a long time.
