How to tastefully and meaningfully reinvent the traditional monsters that are glacier glasses? Julbo has taken on the task to produce a very successful revival.
Firstly, there’s the design, finely revised and remodeled while keeping its roots yet modernizing the shape of the lenses to the extent that you can wear these Julbo Legacy glasses in the city, with the leather side protections, or better yet, without them…
Then, there’s the modification of the leather side protections’ attachment. On the Julbo Legacy, all it takes is to unclip them to remove them. The reverse maneuver is just as easy. They stay in place and don’t detach from the lenses as often happens with this type of glasses. The metal/plastic mix of the frames is very well done.
The comfortable branch tips are marked with a slight touch of red color, their circular shapes are also well executed. The Julbo Legacy glasses stay firmly in place. However, the non-slip nose is a bit firm to the touch.
Lastly, there’s the essential aspect, the quality of the lenses (a hallmark of Julbo), polarized and belonging to categories 2 to 4.
A very successful revival for these glacier glasses, now elegant, modern, and high-performing. We love them. Respect for heritage. Awarded First Test4outside.com.
