Millet has truly nailed it with this one. The Trilogy Sky 25+ is a do-it-all, fast-and-light mountain backpack that’s lightweight, rugged, and versatile, designed to handle a wide range of alpine activities with ease. Tested here in its 25-liter version, it is also available in various capacities to suit different needs.
This pack is aimed at day-long or short multi-day alpine missions, depending on the volume selected. Its standout feature is undoubtedly its light weight, allowing for quick, fluid movement through technical terrain. Despite its minimal weight, it includes all the essential features for mountain travel in all conditions and across disciplines.
Constructed from 300D Black Dyneema, the Trilogy Sky 25+ is exceptionally durable, with a PFC-free water-repellent finish for added longevity. The Dyneema fabric also offers a stretchy, flexible feel that enables overloading when necessary.
The back panel is made from micro-perforated foam, which is thin, light, and breathable—yet still comfortable for extended wear. The shoulder straps follow a similar approach: foam padding on the inner half for reduced pressure, while the outer half features 3D mesh housing the flask holders, echoing trail-running vest design.
Dual side pockets on the lower flanks easily store gels, snacks, a phone, or a soft flask.
Flask holders on the straps (tested with 500ml) have elastic cords to hold the nozzles in place and drain moisture efficiently.
Top rope holder also functions as the main closure system and doubles as the upper anchor point for diagonal ski carry. However, when skis are mounted at the topmost point, the lid doesn’t close completely, which may let in snow.
Two classic ice axe attachments (FPP) on the front with metal blade locks and stitched loops for the shafts.
A removable cord on the left side acts as gear attachment—long enough to carry a sleeping pad.
Main compartment is accessed via a top drawcord or a side zip (right side) without removing the pack—though the side zipper is not waterproof.
Inside: hydration sleeve with left/right tube exit options and a removable internal pocket.
An open front compartment holds crampons or a shell jacket for quick access.
The Trilogy Sky 25+ is clearly inspired by trail running packs—everything you need is within reach without removing the bag. The design promotes a compact load close to the back for better balance.
The BOA adjustment system is integrated into the bottom of the pack, enclosed by a magnetic flap. It allows easy compression of the pack volume even while wearing it—a standout detail. Unlike exposed BOA dials that often wear out due to abrasion, this one is cleverly protected and well-designed.
Volume: Ideal for single-day alpine trips, even with helmet, rope, and light technical gear.
Missing: A pole attachment system (surprisingly, as it’s available on other Trilogy packs).
Slight drawbacks: Lower sternum strap is quite short, and overall size may feel small depending on body shape.
Weight: 660 grams, very acceptable for this level of functionality.
Material: Durable, water-repellent, eco-friendly (PFC-free).
The Millet Trilogy Sky 25+ shines through its high-end construction, ruggedness, smart fit, and comprehensive alpine features. Whether you’re climbing, mountaineering, ski touring, trail running, or on demanding hikes, this is a backpack that performs across the board.
Yes, the price is on the high side—but this is a high-quality, made-in-France product that fully justifies the investment. A top-tier, versatile alpine pack.
