Millet designed the Parmelan Hybrid Hoody as something of a hybrid piece: fleece jacket, protective layer, and insulation garment all at once. Its fleece heritage is clearly noticeable, but the windproof panels on the upper section provide an added level of protection. The fabric used in these areas is even water-repellent.
In terms of warmth, the textured construction of the fabric traps air efficiently, delivering an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. Another major strength is its breathability and its ability to move perspiration toward outer layers. The only drawback concerns the recycled material used: over time, its shape retention changes slightly, with the lower back area tending to stretch a bit.
The fabric follows every movement naturally, and the fit is close to the body. However, the Millet Parmelan Hybrid Hoody may not be ideal for climbers with particularly broad shoulders.
The zippers run smoothly and feature pull cords with molded ends, making them easy to handle in cold conditions or while wearing gloves.
The hood is excellent, offering full coverage and performing especially well under a helmet.
Weight is kept under control at around 350 grams, and the Millet Parmelan Hybrid Hoody compresses easily for packing.
Overall, this is a thin yet warm mid-layer that also provides impressive breathability — an essential piece for mountaineering, ski touring, and other outdoor activities.
