This Fjällraven Keb jacket W (it is also available for men) is an unusual protective jacket. You can see the Swedish manufacturer’s DNA: sustainability, respect for nature, design and use of their own materials.
This is the only jacket to our knowledge (horse riding jackets maybe?) that can be coated with wax to improve its waterproofness. This product is called Greenland Wax. A very interesting approach at a time when all other manufacturers have switched to technical membranes … which are difficult to recycle and need DWR. Thus the fabric used is the G-1000 created by Fjällraven in 1968. It is solid, lightweight and breathable, but resistant to wind and moisture (its characteristics are enhanced if this famous wax is applied). It offers UV and mosquito protection thanks to its tight weave.
The hood, shoulders, torso, lower back and back of the forearms are made of G-1000 Eco: 65% recycled polyester, 35% eco-friendly cotton.
The sleeves, back and chest pockets are made of 63% polyamide, 26% polyester, 11% elastane stretch fabric.
This Fjällraven Keb jacket W is suitable for various outdoor activities thanks to the two materials that make it wind and moisture resistant (but not rain), and to the sun. We appreciated its stretchiness that gives freedom of movement and allows you to wear underlayers to improve the heat without feeling confined.
The design is stylized and feminine. Its elegant design gives it the quality of an everyday sportswear jacket. Fjällraven designers allowed themselves some stylistic or even technical fantasies, like the drawstrings of the hood that are visible and arranged outside the jacket: superb. We also note the famous logo, Fjällraven brand emblem, which means mountain fox.
The storm hood is adjustable with this famous and aesthetic effective system. The contour of the hood, semi rigid, creates a visor offering optimal protection and vision comfort.
Adjustment at the hips allow waterproofness.
There is a two-way central zip, which enables good ventilation even if it is very windy.
There are stretchy breast pockets, which are deep and each have a small mesh compartment and they are closed with a zip. They are aesthetic, but uncomfortable when full (even despite the elastic material), the contents press on your chest (even if not generous!). Pockets positioned lower down would seem more suitable for women.
Under each arm is a two-way zipped ventilated opening. Very easy to use and the opening / closing is very fluid.
A Velcro system on each wrist allows you to adjust to the various uses of this jacket (roll up the sleeves, tuck the sleeves in gloves , etc.), it is practical, powerful and effective.
This product comes in six different colors to match with any feminine choices. Like the Keb T-Shirt of the same brand, the two materials used for construction are of different colors but in the same shades.
The coupling of the Long Sleeve T-shirt and the Keb Jacket is ideal for providing comfort, warmth, breathing and protection for various outdoor activities (the products have been used for hiking, running, skiing, and every day use).
The only downside to this product: when you close the jacket completely, despite a flap that protects the zip, the surrounding material rubs against your face (cheeks and chin). On the other hand the collar goes up very high and you have great protection.
All in all this Fjällraven Keb W jacket was very popular because it can be worn for outdoor activities and also every day. Its design is original, both in terms of materials and design. A product also designed to last.
