The main drawback of the Nordica Unlimited LT 130 Dyn concerns the difficulty of putting it on, which is not easy at all, even when the boot is warm.
The two top buckles are composed of cables that engage with the ratchets. These cables are not preformed, so it’s possible to put them on backward. And since the attachment of these cables is bent, if the device is reversed, it won’t work for tightening. Therefore, either a color code is needed to place the buckle correctly from the start, or the cable needs to be preformed.
The tightening system on the instep is original, with a cable loop on both buckles. It’s quite effective because it provides a very good wrap of the foot without causing any pressure points. Another big positive point concerns the cuff: with the top buckles closed, if the Nordica Unlimited LT 130 Dyn is in “walk” mode, you benefit from the cuff’s range of motion. This is very valuable; you don’t have to open the top of the boot as with most models on the market.
The transition from ski to walk mode is similar to Atomic’s, in any case, it doesn’t get stuck. You just need to pull the small rear tab to unlock the Nordica Unlimited LT 130 Dyn.
This Nordica Unlimited LT 130 Dyn is both a touring boot and a good alpine model because the 130 flex is well present. A stiffness that allows for confident edge engagement without hesitation.
The Nordica Unlimited LT 130 Dyn is quiet, without creaking or squeaking, both downhill and uphill. It features a Gripwalk sole with a grippy Michelin rubber.
The liner is fairly comfortable, relatively thick, especially around the ankles; we’ll see how it holds up over time. Unlike the Atomic touring boot, the Velcro on the liner tongue of the Nordica Unlimited LT 130 Dyn holds firmly and doesn’t give way when pulling on the top of the liner.
The Nordica Unlimited LT 130 Dyn offers both a fairly comfortable foot wrap and quite efficient power transmission through the shell. A boot that we really liked for its skiability but is really difficult to put on. It’s a pity because in terms of pure skiability, it surpasses the Atomic. With a last of 99.
