No surprises with this technical under garment: the Odlo quality shines forth. The materials, finishing, stitching and comfort zones are all unbeatable.
Before putting on the Slim Fit we immediately noticed the weight of this tee, 223g size M. Heavier than a synthetic counterpart, but, there are significant advantages: Merinos wool, natural and can be worn a lot longer before any odors appear. Of course you still have to wash it, but the stink that is so often connected to certain under garments is never a problem with an Odlo.
It is fast drying and transfers humidity rapidly towards exterior layers. That said, synthetic materials seem to do this slightly better.
The feeling of warmth is very pleasant with the Odlo: you have the feeling you are wearing a thicker layer. People who are sensitive to wool and cannot stand the feeling of itchy wool will see that Merinos is wool and so skin contact is not as soft as synthetic fabrics like polyester, polyamide and elastane. Some people won’t notice, some will, it’s all a question of sensitivity.
The fit is body hugging without being too tight and the back is nicely long to keep the lower back warm. You can’t feel the flat stitching. The cuffs are a bit too tight if you have a large GPS style watch underneath, but the fabric is very soft.
The neckline is comfortable, doesn’t tear, although slackens a little with use. Odlo has put a small strap at the neckline to be able to hang it up to dry, but it could be slightly larger.
It’s a good idea to cut out the washing instructions label before wearing as it itches.
An excellent under garment to keep you warm. It is in the “warm” range from Odlo. There is even warmer in the “X-warm” category.
This garment goes well with the Slim Fit pants as an ensemble and that Test4outside also tested.
