We had the opportunity to test the outstanding Q36.5 Dottore Pro Bib Shorts, a high-end product that claims to use advanced fabric technologies combining compression and silver threads. According to Q36.5, these silver threads are designed to “reduce the negative impact of the body’s natural electrical charges produced during exercise, while stimulating blood circulation and increasing oxygen supply to the cells.”
With that said, out on the road we mainly noticed exceptional comfort and the extreme finesse of the materials, both of which contribute to breathability and overall comfort. Just above the knee, the honeycomb structure stands out: it enhances compression while also improving the fit of the Q36.5 Dottore Pro Bib Shorts. Even riders with less muscular thighs will feel fully supported and wrapped by the fabric. We could not help but think of the compression shorts that Salomon introduced during the golden era of Kilian Jornet in trail running.
We truly appreciated how the Q36.5 Dottore Pro Bib Shorts minimizes the use of seams, significantly reducing friction. The wide bib straps are equally impressive: extremely comfortable and unobtrusive. There are also no annoying labels to remove.
The chamois insert between the thighs delivers excellent comfort while maintaining a precise feel on the saddle. Moisture management is very effective, and once again, no friction points were noticed.
We also loved the design, especially the small “aluminium-style” inserts. The bib shorts were tested together with the Q36.5 Dottore Pro Research Scientist Jersey.
