In the all-mountain category, this women’s version of the Rossignol Arcade 84—tested in the 168 cm length with a 14-meter turn radius—proved to be a fantastic discovery and a genuine success. Unlike its larger sibling, the 88 mm men’s model, which we found stiffer, more demanding to drive, and a bit over-rockered at the extremities, this Arcade 84 Lady delivers a remarkably coherent flex profile. Whether it’s a dedicated women’s-specific design or simply a refined size offering, the on-snow result is downright exciting.
Underfoot, you get a ski with real substance, responsiveness, and beautifully balanced energy that allows you to step on the gas without a second thought. Thanks to a generous effective edge length and a profile that stays firmly glued to the snowpack, the ski never flinches. Beneath the feet of an athletic female skier eager to push her limits, it delivers continuously. On pure carved edges, turn execution is simply imperial: arcs are razor-clean, modulate effortlessly, and edge grip remains rock-solid even as the slope steepens. It is a stunning carving machine for groomed runs—as reassuring as it is thrilling.
True to its all-mountain program in side-country terrain, the Arcade 84 leverages its generous tip to pivot with great ease.Granted, its active flex requires a baseline of physical engagement to drive, but its waist width and rocker profile work wonders in soft spring snow and slush. You float right over surface irregularities with instinctive pivoting, while drifted and skidded turns execute with seamless fluidity. In a straight line, it exhibits virtually no wash-out or flutter, demonstrating exemplary stability with zero unpleasant surprises. In fact, it is so well designed that male skiers could easily adopt it without hesitation.
Boasting top-tier glide and stellar edge grip, the Rossignol Arcade 84 also delivers exceptional energy return—that crucial ratio between rider input and dynamic response. This is undeniably one of its standout strengths, pointing to meticulous design work.
On the finishing front (crafted in Spain), it features a stylish tip highlighted by a subtle turquoise insert and translucent carbon-like visual effects. The topsheet is textured to facilitate easy carrying, complemented by a classic slim, screwed-in tip protector (preventing tips from crossing) and a durable rubber tail block designed for leaning the skis securely against a wall.
Its only real compromise lies in its heft: it is a heavy ski, but that controlled weight is precisely what gives it such a planted feel, commanding snow presence, and formidable efficiency.
An ultra-solid, high-performing, and remarkably well-balanced all-mountain ski. A true tester favorite that earned our Test4outside Core Award for athletic skiers seeking top-tier performance.
