This short from Salewa is undeniably a great ultra product, nice to wear for any outings, watch out you don’t wear it in town… Its exceptional comfort is due to its ample cut but also to the stretch fabric that does not restrict movement. The Pedroc DST (DST=Durastretch) is especially efficient in the uphill when you need to lift your thighs: no rubbing or restraint creates any energy loss. High breathability so it dries ultra fast. We suggest this particular short for those adept at cross hiking and all hikers in general. Lightweight at only 3.17oz, you don’t even notice it in your backpack.
No signs of weakness, just a lightly stretched thread after weeks of use. It has two pockets, one on the thigh with an inverted zip, the other on the right buttock, without a zip. In both cases designed for lightweight objects such as tissues, because the fabric is so light and thin it deforms easily. The only criticism we could make would be the cord adjustment on the waistband.
The cord misses knots on both ends to avoid that sinking feeling when you see the cord disappear inside the black hole … But as you don’t tend to put much in the pockets there is no need to tighten the band super tight, especially as the elastic belt is almost enough to hold it all in place on its own.
