Salomon QST LUX 92

HOT DEAL

The Salomon QST Lux 92 freeride lady ski “made I Bulgaria”, written in big on it. We tested this very pleasant ski in size 169cm. A rather well-finished product, nice looking, attractive tip lift, short tail with elastomer cushioning, and superb die-cut tips. That’s what they look like!

The glide is really flamboyant but overall, everything is efficient and great. The Salomon QST Lux 92 have energy, but you don’t need a handbook or big physical strength to exploit them.

We loved going through chop and deep snow. In very soft snow they pivot really easily, ride through packs of snow, always easy and available to the skier. Completely the opposite to the Stance 88 w which are big heavy boats, with inertia. These Quest are full of life, easy. We won’t go as far as to say they are playful but underfoot they pivot really well. The Salomon QST Lux 92 position easily, aren’t heavy, you can really have fun. They are especially recommended for skiing in forests where you need rapidity and quick manoeuvrability.

The Salomon QST Lux 92 are also at ease on pistes, they carve, skid, even ifi they aren’t a piste model. It does tend to understeer and pull to the right if you are on the tail or edge. But Salomon are always there, especially if you position yourself properly and you’re a good skier, you can still enjoy piste skiing with them.

Its grip is pretty good, it works for skiers who have a good amount of pressure. Flat pivoting is easy, but also in an upright stance.

The Salomon QST Lux 92 aren’t heavy skis and provide quality skiability at a reasonable price. Their main high point concerns their behaviour off piste. You benefit from excellent cushioning in chop, vibrations don’t travel up your legs, pivoting and tip lifting out are easy thanks to the excellent tip lift. These skis win the Test4outside.com Hot Deal Award.
