The Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro is both a very light boot (1400 grams in size 27) and provides high-level skiability. The carbon fiber collar and the Grilamid shell are no strangers to this type of ski boot.
We immediately noticed that the 130 flex is (very) overestimated, the boot is very flexible on the forefoot pressure (it does better on the heel pressure). On the other hand, it’s very effective on lateral pressure, especially ski tourers skilled in angulation and riding in a low stance.
The other comment concerns, as for the Tecnica Cochise 130 DYN GW, the instep’s reduced volume. Voluminous feet are a lot less comfortable in this Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro.
The Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro is remarkable in the uphill due to its light weight and its significant reach. They feel incredibly light, you don’t notice them and you can swallow up the elevation gain. We really liked the simple fact of raising the rear lever for the boot to go into walk mode without having to open the two hooks. The lever handling is easy with a small strap: simple, practical, no fuss.
Overall, the Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro is very snug fitting. It has good quality, powerful buckles despite the ultra-light technical solution: the cable. The adjustment strap is like the Cochise, a similar model.
The thin inner sock is kitted with the Recco System. It has a good Vibram sole.
In the downhill, we saw that the 130 flex was closer to 120. But the ski piloting remains effective provided you don’t have to turn moguls that are too steep (beware of tough freeride skis…).
This Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro is a vertical cruncher while remaining a precise descender laterally. It has an overrated flex and a very high price.
