The best thing about the ZAG Ubac is how light it is. Off-piste it pivots with ease and the progressive rocker keeps the skier on top of the snow. For the short time that we stay at a reasonable speed flat pivoting or with more angle is no problem at all. The prerequisite is to remain on regular and homogenous snow.
On irregular and /or bumpy terrain its liveliness and lightness reveals its playful side, especially when you increase the speed. On soft snow, if the terrain remains soft as well, the ski turns with ease. If the snow turns hard you need to lift off the gas because as soon as you put on pressure and try to turn sharply the tip skids.
The longitudinal balance is affected and the turn is hard to complete serenely. This is a ski that has superb skill lifting out of deep snow, lively and easy to pivot. It is more tiring on bumpy ground and on hard snow if you increase your speed the edge bites less.
