Dynafit’s Feline X7 has numerous qualities making an interesting and high performance shoe. The development of trail running products at Dynafit has taken a bit of time, but the real uniqueness of this product Feline X7 concerns its “Boa” lacing system, which works well and is reliable. It is a system that we find on snowboard and ski boots and climbing shoes.
The system enables fast lacing. It is precise and strong. Be careful not to tighten it too much. The Boa also distributes the pressure evenly right to the front of the foot. The foothold is exceptional, giving ultra precise positioning, just like a climbing shoe. The main concern with this shoe is the flexibility of the shoe especially during torsion. You have to lift your foot when it gets too technical, especially when running at an angle. What you win in proprioception you lose in hold and protection.
The inside of the foot is exposed to shocks, there is not much material, even with the stone guard. The grip is mega powerful on all types of terrain. The under sole width is not very wide so you lose a little bit of ground support. The stride is nice, easy and fluid. Cushioning filters the bumpy ground except for a few stones that can be felt by the metatarsals. The Feline X7 is designed for narrow feet. Very confortable and designed for steep terrain that needs good grip. Best use for forefoot or mid foot runners. Original classy design. A technical shoe at a high price.
