The new Rossignol Hi-Speed Pro 130 CA MV largely retains the shape of the old model (Speed), but with a Grip Walk sole and a new liner that can be thermoformed with great precision.
On the snow, we discover a boot that is a very interesting mix of precision, relatively solid 130 flex, all with great comfort: no issues at the ankles or on the instep. The closure is very consistent. There’s a finesse of wrap that is very appealing. This Rossignol Hi-Speed Pro 130 CA MV belongs to the type of ski boots that you forget you’re wearing: warm, comfortable…
The buckles are very well thought out, like those of the old model. The shell doesn’t collapse. In flexion, we didn’t notice any shell deformation. We really liked the bi-injection part on the forefoot: the joints between the injections have been aesthetically refined, there’s no longer the small unsightly joint that was there before.
It’s a boot that isn’t bulky, close to the foot. It’s sleek, like the bodywork of a sports car. The buckles were highly appreciated because unlike other products on the market, the ratchets are not quite aligned with the buckle. This is often the case with the third buckle from the bottom. With the Rossignol Hi-Speed Pro 130 CA MV, this is not the case.
Putting them on is very easy. The superb buckles are easy to handle. We still have a slight reservation about the strap with a metal buckle. We continue to say that this closure is less practical than Velcro (which doesn’t have a “World Cup” vibe!). Passing the strap through the metal buckle is not easy with cold fingers, and then you have to thread the excess strap through a small loop.
We liked the progressive arrival of the stiff point. It’s not abrupt, not from zero to one, it’s nuanced. There’s no pressure on the shin.
Other strengths of the Rossignol Hi-Speed Pro 130 CA MV include its Gripwalk sole, waterproofing, warmth. The weight of this boot is also kept in check.
A boot with precise wrapping that targets skilled skiers who don’t sacrifice comfort. A beautiful buckling system and a shell rigid enough for powerful edge engagement. It receives a First award.
