Rossignol All Speed Elite 130

FIRST

We skied with the Rossignol All Speed Elite 130 for almost four months. This is the kind of ski boot, among all the boots received in our tests, that we fall in love with. It was also awarded a Test4outside.com FIRST Award. We were even able to ski its future 2023 replacement, which is even lighter, we will reveal the product to you in the fall of 2022.

Let’s go back to the Rossignol All Speed Elite 130, which offers a 98mm last coupled with a 130 flex. It is aimed at good piste skiers (but not only) who want a precise but not restrictive, relatively warm boot.

Before skiing, we note it’s easy to put on, including when we inadvertently forget the boots in the trunk of the car overnight (it is much harder, but it is still possible when cold). The buckles are very performant, especially the angle of the buckles/hooks on the instep are easy to adjust. You immediately feel that your foot is enveloped and the support is of a high standard.

We were less impressed by the collar strap with its racing-style metal buckle: not very easy and quick to handle and adjust for a top-of-the-range shoe that’s not intended for performance at any price. The boot makes a slight noise in flexion, but that’s really nit picking!

It has a precise fit, but without any pressure points. After several weeks, the inner sock settles, and you must increasingly tighten it, a classic scenario linked to wear and tear, where the shell gets closer and closer (with possible appearance of pressure points). The 130 flex is true, with regular flexion before reaching the final pressure transmission.

The inner sock is relatively well insulated with 3M Thinsulate. The boot is waterproof, and well finished.

The Rossignol All Speed Elite 130 is compatible with a Gripwalk sole, sold separately. The original sole provides good grip for most walking and shows moderate wear. 2125 grams in size 26.5. The hooks hold up well against bangs from edges. Fluorescent paint sometimes shows scratches depending on the zone.

In the end, the Rossignol All Speed Elite 130 is a well-designed piste ski boot with a well-balanced mix of precision and comfort. The FIRST Award is well deserved for this top-end piste product.
