The Faction Dancer 3 impressed testers greatly, earning a First Award.
This beautiful ski, with its vintage design, excels off-piste (its intended domain). Of course, its width helps a lot in deep snow conditions. However, it’s certainly its “solid feel” underfoot that testers appreciated most. The Faction Dancer 3 allows you to go very fast, attack the terrain, and handle difficult conditions with ease. It absorbs snow piles effortlessly, and transitions between different types of snow are well managed.
This fast ski is especially comfortable in long, high-speed turns. When you engage the edge, you need to be a skilled pilot to manage the angulation, as its width and powerful cut edges create a significant lever effect.
Reducing the radius isn’t easy. It’s clear that finer techniques, like slalom-like turns, are not its specialty: the Faction Dancer 3 is built for speed, wide turns, and big spaces. To reduce the radius, you need to actively work the tip, load it up, and engage the flex. The Faction Dancer 3 will change its radius, but only marginally. Alternatively, you’ll need to adopt a more sliding, drifting style.
This excellent ski is particularly recommended for difficult snow conditions, where it allows you to relax and not be overwhelmed by the terrain. It’s a true joy to ride at high speed. For skiers with a lower skill level, however, caution is advised: don’t get carried away by the enthusiasm of the Faction Dancer 3—it’s designed for big turns, and you may not always be able to modify the radius in time.
